Best SEO Backlink Building Services: The Six Link Types, Who Provides Each, And Which AI Models Help
The best SEO backlink building services by link type (my agency disclosed), Google's rules for each type, and the GoldieBench models that suit each job.

The best SEO backlink building services depend on which type of link work your site needs, and my overall pick is Goldie Agency, which is my own agency.
I'm telling you that upfront so you can weigh my bias against everything else on this page.
The six types are outreach and guest posts, niche edits, digital PR, expert quotes, the skyscraper technique and broken link building.
My third-party list is Digitaloft, uSERP, Siege Media, Loganix, FATJOE, The HOTH and LinkBuilder.io, each matched to the types it describes on its own site.
An SEO backlink building service earns links to your pages from other relevant websites, and the type of service decides how those links are earned.
In this post I'll explain each type, rank the providers, cover Google's rules for each type, and then show you which AI models suit each job.
If you'd rather get a plan for your own site, you can book a free SEO strategy session with my team.
The six types of SEO backlink building services
| Link type | What it is | Providers whose own sites describe it |
|---|---|---|
| Outreach and guest posts | You pitch an editor an article for their site that includes a relevant link | FATJOE, Loganix and LinkBuilder.io |
| Niche edits or link insertions | A link to your page is added to an article that already exists | Loganix, FATJOE and The HOTH |
| Digital PR | You create a story or data study that journalists want to cover | Digitaloft, Siege Media and uSERP |
| Expert quotes (HARO-style) | You answer journalist requests and get quoted with a link | LinkBuilder.io and Editorial.Link, plus the Featured and Qwoted platforms |
| Skyscraper technique | You build a better resource than the one people already link to and ask them to consider yours | Goldstar Links and LinkBuilder.io |
| Broken link building | You find dead links on relevant sites and offer your page as the replacement | LinkBuilder.io and Editorial.Link |
I read every provider's own website on 15 October 2026, and I haven't hired the third-party services myself.
Each type explained
Outreach and guest posts
A person finds relevant sites, pitches an editor and writes an article that includes a link to your page.
This is the workhorse of most campaigns, and the quality gap between providers is widest here.
Niche edits or link insertions
A link to your page is added to an existing article that may already rank.
The appeal is speed, but you need to know exactly how each insertion is earned.
Digital PR
A provider creates a survey, a data study or a story and pitches it to journalists.
Coverage is never guaranteed, but the links that land come from real editorial decisions.
Expert quotes
You answer requests from journalists who need a source, and the published article may link to you.
Featured describes itself as a co-pilot for PR that helps you find journalist requests, and Qwoted describes itself as connecting the media with expert sources.Skyscraper technique
You find a resource with lots of links, build something clearly better and ask the linking sites to consider yours.
Broken link building
You find links on relevant sites that point to dead pages and offer your page as a working replacement.
The ranked list of SEO backlink building services
| Rank | Provider | What its own site says | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Goldie Agency and Goldstar Links (my agency) | Manual outreach with no PBNs, niche-relevant placements and the skyscraper technique | Owners who want outreach and content-led links managed |
| 2 | Digitaloft | SEO, content, digital PR and GEO, plus The Digital PR Summit | Brands that want media coverage |
| 3 | uSERP | Editorial links earned by outreach and never bought, plus digital PR | B2B and SaaS brands |
| 4 | Siege Media | A full-service GEO agency with content, research reports and digital PR | Content-led brands |
| 5 | Loganix | Guest posts, niche edits, premium editorial links and brand mentions | Self-serve marketers |
| 6 | FATJOE | Blogger outreach, niche edits and digital PR, all white label | Agencies that resell |
| 7 | The HOTH | Link outreach, link insertions, digital PR and press releases | One-menu buyers |
| 8 | LinkBuilder.io | Over 20 techniques, including skyscraper, broken link building and HARO-style pitching | Teams that want a tactic mix |
I haven't listed prices, because they depend on the niche and most providers quote after a call.
Number one: Goldie Agency and Goldstar Links
Goldie Agency is the SEO and link building agency I started on my own after my first site, a cryptocurrency blog, got zero Google traffic for months. It now has 70+ SEO experts, and I rank it first because I know how the work is done.
The homepage lists manual outreach with no PBNs, niche-relevant placements and real backlinks on high-authority sites.
Goldstar Links says it uses the skyscraper technique and runs a 3-layer approval process for every backlink. One case study on the agency site says The Wheel Generator grew keyword rankings by 476% between May and August 2025 with only 6 backlinks.
That is a past result for one site, and nobody can promise the same for yours.

The seven third-party providers in brief
Digitaloft features a case study about earning 75+ hyper-relevant media placements for Booking.com for Business. uSERP lists GEO, AEO and AI search services alongside editorial links and digital PR. Siege Media says it studies prompt and citation data and builds content, signals and coverage around the gaps. Loganix says its fulfilment team averages 6 years of SEO experience and that you can review, approve or ask for replacements. FATJOE says it has delivered over 261,000 orders since 2012. The HOTH offers fully managed, white-label SEO for agencies and resellers. LinkBuilder.io lists resource page outreach and unlinked brand mentions alongside its other techniques. What Google's link spam policy says about each type
Google's spam policies define link spam as creating links primarily to manipulate search rankings.
The examples include exchanging money, goods or services for links, automated link creation and optimised anchors in guest posts or press releases.
Google also says paid links are fine for advertising when they carry rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow".
| Link type | Where the policy risk sits |
|---|---|
| Outreach and guest posts | Paid posts and optimised anchors in guest posts are named in the policy |
| Niche edits | Money exchanged for an inserted link that passes ranking credit fits the link spam description |
| Digital PR | The risk is low when journalists freely choose to cover the story |
| Expert quotes | The risk is low because an editor chooses your quote |
| Skyscraper | The risk is low because better content earns the link |
| Broken link building | The risk is low because you replace a dead link with a useful page |
Paying a team for research, content, outreach and PR is a normal service.
Paying purely for a link that passes ranking credit is what Google calls link spam.
So ask every provider, mine included, how each placement is earned and how any paid placement is marked.
How to brief and measure each type
- For outreach and guest posts, I list the topics a site must cover and ask for mostly branded anchors.
- For niche edits, I ask how each insertion is earned and whether money changes hands.
- For digital PR, I agree the story angle and the data source before anyone pitches.
- For expert quotes, I name the person who will answer and the topics they know first-hand.
- For the skyscraper technique, I agree which resource we are beating and how ours will be better.
- For broken link building, I list the pages on my site that make good replacements.
I give every type at least 60 to 90 days, and I judge it on rankings, traffic and enquiries rather than the number of links.
Outreach and niche edits usually go live fastest, while digital PR and skyscraper campaigns take longer.
Red flags to walk away from
- A guaranteed ranking or date is a promise nobody can keep.
- A huge number of links for a tiny fee usually means automated or low-quality placements.
- A provider that won't show you live URLs is asking you to buy blind.
- A provider that sells fully automated link creation is describing what Google lists as link spam.

Do link building services ship their own AI model?
Now for the GoldieBench part, and I want to be clear about what it measures.
None of these services ships its own model, and none of them has an entry on the GoldieBench board.
GoldieBench scores AI models on one-shot builds such as landing pages, apps, games and visuals, on a 0 to 10 scale.
It doesn't measure link building results, and it doesn't rank the providers above.
What it does show is how well a model follows a detailed brief and produces polished work first time.
That matters because every link type now has a research or content job that a model can speed up.
Which GoldieBench models suit each link type
These are the live averages from each model's page on this site, matched to the job I'd give each model.
| Link type | Model I'd use | GoldieBench average | Price on the board | The job |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Digital PR | Claude Opus 5 | 8.27 | $5 / $25 per M tokens | Turning a data study into a clear, quotable story draft |
| Skyscraper | Claude Fable 5 | 8.10 | $10 / $50 per M tokens | Planning a resource that genuinely beats the existing ones |
| Skyscraper tools | Qwen 3.8 | 8.10 | Qoder plan | Building an interactive calculator or tool people want to link to |
| Outreach and guest posts | MiniMax M3 | 7.97 | $0.30 / $1.50 per M tokens | Sorting long prospect lists and drafting first pitches for a human to edit |
| Expert quotes | Claude Sonnet 5 | 7.01 | $3 / $15 per M tokens | Turning your notes into a tight answer you then rewrite in your own words |
| Broken link building | Gemini 3.6 Flash | 7.08 | $1.50 per M input tokens | Fast, cheap classification of large lists of dead links |
| Niche edit vetting | Qwen 3.7 | 7.00 | Open weights, free for individuals | Checking whether an existing article is genuinely on topic, on your own machine |
Claude Opus 5 is the highest-scoring single model in this table at 8.27.
Claude Fable 5 and Qwen 3.8 both average 8.10, and Qwen 3.8 is the one I'd test first for interactive linkable assets.
MiniMax M3 averages 7.97 at a fraction of the frontier price, which is why I'd use it for volume work.
Gemini 3.6 Flash averages 7.08 and Claude Sonnet 5 averages 7.01, which is plenty for sorting and short drafts.
These scores are about build quality, so please don't read them as a ranking of link quality or of the providers above.
What the scores mean for your link building
A model can draft, sort and summarise, but it can't earn a link.
An editor still has to decide that your page, story or quote is worth linking to.
A model should never send outreach on its own, because Google lists automated link creation as link spam.
My practical setup is a cheap model for sorting, a top model for anything a journalist or editor will read, and a person who approves every decision.

FAQ
What are the best SEO backlink building services?
Julian Goldie ranks his own agency, Goldie Agency with Goldstar Links, first and discloses the bias. His third-party list is Digitaloft, uSERP, Siege Media, Loganix, FATJOE, The HOTH and LinkBuilder.io, matched to the link types each describes.
What types of SEO backlink building services are there?
The six common types are outreach and guest posts, niche edits or link insertions, digital PR, expert quotes in the style of HARO, the skyscraper technique and broken link building.
Which link building type is safest under Google's rules?
Types where an editor freely chooses to link carry the least risk, such as digital PR, expert quotes, skyscraper content and broken link building. Paid links that pass ranking credit are link spam under Google's policy.
Do SEO backlink building services ship their own AI model?
No. None of the services in this list ships its own model or appears on GoldieBench. Use the board to choose a model for the research and content jobs inside each link type.
Which GoldieBench model is best for link building work?
It depends on the job. Claude Opus 5 averages 8.27 for drafts editors will read, Qwen 3.8 averages 8.10 for interactive linkable tools, and MiniMax M3 averages 7.97 for cheap prospect sorting. GoldieBench measures one-shot builds, not link quality.
Do SEO backlink building services guarantee rankings?
No. Nobody controls Google's rankings, so treat any guaranteed position or date as a red flag.
