Claude GEO SEO: What It Is, The Workflow I Run, And How Anthropic's Claude Models Score

Claude GEO SEO explained: my Search Console to case-study workflow, Google's fact-check rule, and how Anthropic's Claude models score on GoldieBench.

Claude GEO SEO: What It Is, The Workflow I Run, And How Anthropic's Claude Models Score — illustrated hero

Claude GEO SEO is using Claude, the AI assistant made by Anthropic, to run the analysis and drafting behind generative engine optimisation and SEO, while you supply the real data and check every fact.

GEO stands for generative engine optimisation, which is the work of making your business the name that Google AI, Gemini or ChatGPT gives when someone asks a question.

The problem it solves is speed, because AI answers name only a few businesses and you need several good pages agreeing on you to be one of them.

If you'd like my team to look at your site first, you can book a free one-to-one GEO, AEO AI audit and get a custom game plan.

In this post I'll explain what Claude GEO SEO is, walk through the workflow I run and cover the limits.

Near the end, I'll show how Anthropic's Claude models score on this leaderboard and what that does and doesn't tell you.

Claude GEO SEO at a glance

This table is the workflow in one view, with who does each part.

StepWhat happensWho does it
1Export Google Search Console data as a CSV file. You
2Ask Claude what's working and which topics could rank in AI search.Claude
3Match each topic to a real case study or transcript. You
4Draft the article, title, description, FAQ and schema with an SEO skill.Claude
5Fact-check every line, including metadata.You
6Publish, then repeat weekly with fresh data.Claude, after your approval

The split is the whole point, because Claude handles volume while you handle truth.

What is Claude, and what does GEO SEO add?

Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant, which you can use as an app or as Claude Code in your terminal.

SEO is classic search engine optimisation, and GEO is the newer work of being named in AI answers.

Old SEO gave you ten blue links, and position seven still got clicks.

AI answers usually give a short list of maybe one to three names, so there's no room for number seven.

The AI reads the pages that rank and sums up what they say, like five friends recommending the same restaurant.

Claude GEO SEO helps you publish the good pages that make those friends agree on you.

It's a different job from getting cited inside Claude's own answers, which I cover in my Claude AI GEO post.

Step 1: Export your Search Console data

Open Google Search Console, go to the Performance report and export the data as a CSV file, which is free.

Google's AI features page says AI Overview and AI Mode traffic is counted in the Performance report under the "Web" search type.

So your export already includes some AI-feature data, even though it isn't separated out.

Step 2: Ask Claude what's actually working

In my latest GEO video I give the export to the agent with one question.

I ask it to analyse the data and, based on what's actually working, give me keyword and topic ideas to rank inside AI search engines.

In that video I'm running Hermes Agent with a free brain, and I say you can run your experiments in Claude and export them, or write inside Claude.

The agent builds a report with clicks, brand share of clicks, non-brand click-through rate and the month's clicks.

It lists what's working, which for me was comparison articles, Agent OS clusters, free AI community pages and Antigravity and Hermes topics.

Then it gives averages and a verdict on the best pages.

I'm honest in the video that this is Google organic data, because Google and the AI engines don't yet report AI traffic well.

Step 3: Give Claude real experience

This is the step most people skip, and it's why most AI content sinks.

If you ask for "an article about SEO", you get the average of the internet.

I record my screen while I do real work, and each recording becomes a text file Claude can read.

I pick a keyword, pick the transcript, and the article gets written from it.

AI Mode describes me as widely recognised as a top practitioner because of public testing and deployment.

That's the lesson, because to be named the expert you have to show you've done the thing.

Step 4: Draft with an SEO skill

A skill is a written recipe Claude reads before it starts, so it follows the same rules on every article.

My SEO skill is roughly a 100-point checklist, and it writes everything from a case-study angle.

Its most important rule is that with no source material, Claude stops and asks instead of inventing.

In my video, the demo prompt asks the agent to create an SEO article using the SEO skill and the keyword "GEO examples" and publish it to aiprofitboardroom.com.

The agent has access to my sites through WordPress and Netlify, so it publishes directly.

If you're starting out, I'd save drafts and approve them by hand first.

Step 5: Fact-check every line

Google updated its page on using generative AI content on 1 October 2026.

It says it's "critical to manually factcheck and review all AI-generated content" before publishing.

That review covers title elements, meta descriptions, structured data and image alt text too.

Google also explains that generative models predict likely words rather than retrieving facts.

Claude can list every claim it made, which makes checking faster, but a human still has to do it.

I'm adding a manual fact-checking list to the AI Profit Boardroom after the October update.

Step 6: Measure and repeat

Each week I give the agent fresh Search Console data and last week's report.

I ask it to flag pages sitting around positions 8 to 15, because those are close to page one.

I also check key buyer questions in the AI tools by hand, because AI answers aren't reported separately.

The three moves behind Claude GEO SEO

I call my GEO system the answer engine, and it has three moves.

MoveWhat it meansHow Claude helps
Be the sourceEvery page carries a real case study, test or result. It turns your notes or transcripts into answer-first pages.
Be everywhereSeveral sites and platforms point to the same answer from different angles. It drafts a different angle for each platform.
Be firstYou publish within 24 hours of a topic appearing. It drafts fast enough for same-day pages that you then check.

When Jev AI dropped, I published on "Jev architecture" and "Jev waitlist" that same weekend.

What I've seen on my own screens

My content appears in Google's AI answer at the top for "best geo expert" and ranks first organically.

When I ask AI Mode for the best GEO experts to follow in 2026, it lists me first and links to my sites.

One of my sites went from zero to more than 1,300 clicks a day, and two other sites are on the same trajectory.

These are my own results, and nobody can guarantee what an AI answer will say.

Claude app or Claude Code for GEO SEO?

Both work, and the right one depends on how much of the loop you want automated.

JobClaude appClaude Code
Analyse one Search Console exportIt works well when you upload the CSV.It reads the file straight from your machine.
Follow a long SEO skillIt works if you paste or attach the skill each time.It can read the skill file from a folder on every run.
Write from transcriptsIt works if you attach the transcript. It can pick the matching transcript from a folder.
Publish to your siteYou copy the draft across yourself. It can publish as part of a pipeline once it has access.
Weekly loopYou repeat the steps by hand. You can run the same steps on a schedule.

I'd start in the app to learn the workflow, then move to Claude Code once you're publishing every week.

In my Agent OS, Claude sits next to Hermes and other agents under one shared memory, so I can hand any step to whichever agent suits it.

A simple weekly Claude GEO SEO routine

This is the routine I'd give anyone starting out, because it keeps the loop small enough to actually run.

On Monday, export fresh Search Console data and ask Claude for the report and three new topic ideas.

On Tuesday, match each topic to a real case study or transcript, and drop any topic you can't back up.

On Wednesday, have Claude draft the three pages with your SEO skill.

On Thursday, fact-check every line, title, description, schema field and alt text, then publish.

On Friday, search your top buyer questions in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode and note who gets named.

At the end of the month, ask Claude which titles and pages moved most, then write those lessons back into the skill.

If a topic appears suddenly in your niche, skip the routine and publish within 24 hours instead.

Limits of Claude GEO SEO

Claude only knows what you give it, so a business with no real experience to share will struggle.

Claude can state wrong facts confidently, so the fact-check is not optional.

Search Console doesn't split AI traffic cleanly, so some measuring is manual.

AI answers change, so pages need refreshing to stay named.

Which Claude model should you use for GEO SEO?

Claude GEO SEO doesn't ship its own model, because it's a workflow that runs on whichever Claude model you pick.

Anthropic offers several models, and here's how the ones on this board score on their live GoldieBench pages today.

ModelMakerGoldieBench average
Claude Opus 5Anthropic8.27
Claude Fable 5Anthropic8.10
Claude Opus 5.5Anthropic7.57
Opus 4.8Anthropic7.51
Claude Sonnet 5Anthropic7.01

Claude Opus 5 has the highest average of these at 8.27, with Claude Fable 5 next at 8.10.

Claude Sonnet 5 sits at 7.01, and Opus 4.8 and Opus 5.5 sit in between.

What these scores do and don't tell you about SEO

GoldieBench scores one-shot builds, such as apps and games made from a single prompt.

It doesn't score article writing, Search Console analysis or fact accuracy, so treat the numbers as a rough guide to how well a model follows a long, detailed instruction.

That matters for Claude GEO SEO, because the SEO skill is a long, detailed instruction.

In practice, the quality of your case study matters far more than the model, because no model can invent experience you don't have.

Whichever model you choose, Google's guidance still applies, so every page gets a human fact-check.

You can browse every model on the models page or check the local models board if you want to run a free brain on your own machine.
