The Best AI Agent Course In 2026: 9 Ranked Picks, How To Choose, And How The Models They Teach Score
The best AI agent course in 2026: 9 ranked picks, free and paid, each verified on its own page, how to choose, and how the models they teach really score.

The best AI agent course in 2026 is the AI Profit Boardroom, which is my own community with 3,400+ members, four coaching calls a week and my installable Agent OS.
I am being straight with you that this is my own list on my own site, so my own courses are ranked first, second and third.
The other six entries are well-known courses from Hugging Face, Microsoft, Anthropic, DeepLearning.AI, LangChain and Vanderbilt University, and I checked each one on the provider's own page on 13 October 2026.
An AI agent course teaches you to set up software that takes a goal, uses tools and finishes a task without you typing every step.
This post ranks the nine I would look at, explains how I ranked them and shows you how to choose one.
Near the end, I also show how the AI models these courses teach actually score on GoldieBench, because that is the question a bench reader asks next.
The best AI agent course: top 3 at a glance
The AI Profit Boardroom is my first pick, because it has agent courses, an installable Agent OS and live coaching in one place.
My second pick is AI Money Lab, because it is free and it is the easiest place to start.
My third pick is My free YouTube agent courses, because you can watch a whole build before you spend anything.
The 9 best AI agent courses, ranked
| Rank | AI agent course | Provider | Level | Free or paid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AI Profit Boardroom (mine) | Julian Goldie | Beginner friendly | Paid |
| 2 | AI Money Lab (mine) | Julian Goldie | Beginner | Free |
| 3 | My free YouTube agent courses (mine) | Julian Goldie | Beginner | Free |
| 4 | Hugging Face AI Agents Course | Hugging Face | Beginner to expert, basic Python needed | Free |
| 5 | Microsoft AI Agents for Beginners | Microsoft | Beginner developer | Free |
| 6 | Anthropic Academy | Anthropic | Mixed | Free |
| 7 | DeepLearning.AI Agentic AI | DeepLearning.AI | Intermediate | Certificate with PRO |
| 8 | LangChain Academy | LangChain | Developer | Free content, paid exam |
| 9 | AI Agent Developer Specialization | Vanderbilt University on Coursera | Beginner | Free trial shown |
The free and paid labels are what each provider's page showed on the day I checked.
I did not print prices, because they change and I will not guess.
I have not completed every third-party course, so I describe what their own pages state rather than pretending I tested them all.
How I ranked the best AI agent courses
I used five criteria, and I applied the same five to every entry.
The first was hands-on building, because a course that only explains ideas does not leave you with a working agent.
The second was whether the course is updated for current tools, because agent tools change every few weeks.
The third was support and community, because most people give up at the first error they cannot solve alone.
The fourth was beginner-friendliness, because many people who search for a course are not developers.
The fifth was cost, including whether the free or paid label is clear before you sign up.
Hands-on building carried the most weight in my ranking.
What an AI agent course should teach you
A chatbot answers a question, and an agent completes a job.
A proper course should cover the model that does the thinking, the tools the agent can use, the memory it keeps and the way it plans its steps.
It should also get you to run an agent on a real task, because that is where the learning happens.
The courses on this list split into two groups.
My own three teach you to install and run agents without writing code.
The other six teach you to write agents in Python, which is the right path if you want to build software.
The 9 best AI agent courses, explained
1. AI Profit Boardroom
This is my own community, so weigh my ranking with that in mind.
It has 3,400+ members, four coaching calls a week and step-by-step courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI.
The classroom includes my installable Agent OS, which is the same dashboard I use to run a crew of agents under one shared memory.
FatRank named it the #1 AI community after testing 27 communities.
It is a paid community, and the current price is on its about page.
It is best for people who want agents doing real work and want someone to ask when one breaks.
2. AI Money Lab
My free community is AI Money Lab, and it comes with a free AI course, a community and 1,000 AI agents.
It is the right first step if you want to learn without paying.
It is best for beginners who are still deciding whether agents are for them.
3. My free YouTube agent courses
I publish full courses on my YouTube channel, which has 400,000+ subscribers.
The two I would start with are How to Build Agent OS - FREE Course! and Hermes FULL COURSE 2 HOURS.
Free written versions live on agentos.guide, including the Hermes crash course and the DeepSeek Harness course.
They are best for people who learn by watching a real build.
4. Hugging Face AI Agents Course
The Hugging Face AI Agents Course is free, and its page says it takes you from beginner to expert in understanding, using and building AI agents.
The syllabus covers agent fundamentals, the smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph frameworks, an agentic RAG use case and a final project.
The page says the certification process is completely free, and it lists basic Python as a prerequisite.
It is best for builders who want open tools and a free certificate.
5. Microsoft AI Agents for Beginners
Microsoft publishes Microsoft AI Agents for Beginners as a free, open-source course on GitHub, and the repository describes it as 18 lessons.
Each lesson has a written guide, a short video and Python code samples.
The lessons cover tool use, planning, multi-agent design, agentic RAG, memory, security and protocols such as MCP.
The code samples use Microsoft Agent Framework with Microsoft Foundry, and the page says an Azure account is required.
It is best for developers who want a clear, lesson-by-lesson curriculum.
6. Anthropic Academy
Anthropic runs Anthropic Academy as its own course library, and the courses I checked were free to register for.
The agent-related courses are Building with the Claude API, Introduction to Model Context Protocol and Claude Code in Action.
The MCP course teaches you to build MCP servers and clients in Python, which is how an agent connects to outside tools.
It is best for anyone whose agents run on Claude.
7. DeepLearning.AI Agentic AI
Andrew Ng teaches DeepLearning.AI Agentic AI, and its page marks it as intermediate.
It covers four design patterns, which are reflection, tool use, planning and multi-agent workflows, and you build them in Python.
The page offers a certificate with a PRO membership, so check the page for what is included today.
It is best for people who want the principles that sit under every framework.
8. LangChain Academy
LangChain runs LangChain Academy, which has self-paced courses on building, testing, deploying and monitoring agents.
The site says its course content is always free, and the paid part is a certification exam.
It is best for developers who have already chosen LangChain or LangGraph.
9. Vanderbilt's AI Agent Developer Specialization
The AI Agent Developer Specialization is a six-course series on Coursera from Vanderbilt University, taught by Dr.
Jules White.
The page marks it as beginner level, and it uses Python.
The page shows an enrol-for-free button, a free trial and financial aid, so check what is included before you start.
It is best for people who want a university-style path and a certificate.

Free vs paid AI agent courses
| Question | Free course | Paid course |
|---|---|---|
| What do you risk? | You only risk your time. | You risk money, so pick one with real support. |
| What do you usually get? | You get lessons and often a large community. | You usually get deeper training and direct help. |
| Who should pick it? | People who are still exploring. | People with a clear goal who want to move faster. |
Six of the nine entries on this list have free lessons, so you can learn a great deal before you pay for anything.
My own setup follows that path, with AI Money Lab as the free step and the AI Profit Boardroom as the paid one.
How to get results from any AI agent course
Start with one agent doing one job, and do not add a second job until the first one works.
Use one profile per model, so every agent has a clear brain and a clear role.
Use free models first, and only pay for a bigger model when a job proves it needs one.
Build straight after every lesson, because watching without building does not stick.
Post your errors in a community, because someone has usually solved the same problem already.
Bring your agents into one dashboard once you have more than two, which is what I call an Agent OS.
The AI models these agent courses teach, with real GoldieBench scores
This section is here because this site is a model leaderboard.
A course is a set of lessons, so no course on this list has a GoldieBench score.
What the board can show you is how the models inside those lessons perform on real one-shot builds.
GoldieBench scores each model's rendered builds from 0 to 10, across games, simulations, visuals and pages.
These are the live averages for model families that the courses above teach or that I teach with.
| Model | Maker | Live GoldieBench average | Where it shows up in AI agent courses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Opus 5 | Anthropic | 8.27 | Claude is the model family taught in Anthropic Academy. |
| GPT-5.6 Sol | OpenAI | 8.16 | It is OpenAI's flagship on the board. |
| Claude Fable 5 | Anthropic | 8.10 | It is another Claude model you can put behind an agent. |
| Qwen 3.8 | Alibaba | 8.10 | It is an open-weights family that suits open-tool courses. |
| Kimi K3 | Moonshot AI | 7.89 | Kimi is one of the models in my own Agent OS. |
| GLM-5.2 | Zhipu / Z.ai | 7.77 | GLM is another model in my own Agent OS. |
| Claude Opus 5.5 | Anthropic | 7.57 | It has its own course inside the AI Profit Boardroom. |
| Grok 4.7 | xAI | 7.15 | It is the newest Grok on the board. |
Scores move as I re-test models, so always check the live model page before you choose.
GoldieBench measures one-shot builds, which is not the same thing as how well a model runs a long agent task with tools.
A model that builds a great page in one shot is usually a strong brain for an agent, but the bench does not test tool use directly.
If you want free and offline options, the local models board ranks the models you can run on your own machine.
You can put up to three models side by side on the compare page, and the scoring rules are on the methodology page.
My honest advice is that the model matters less than the course and the habits around it.
A strong model with no method still produces forgettable work, while an average model with a clear job and good instructions gets real results.
That is why I rank courses by building, support and current tools, and I only use the bench to pick the brain.
