Grok Bot Ideas + Which AI Models To Draft Them With, Using Real GoldieBench Scores Read On 4 November

Grok Bot picks its own model, so pick yours where it counts: drafting the role, the skill and the page spec.

Grok bot ideas run on whatever model Grok Bot picks, so the model you choose matters one step earlier: when you draft the role, the skill and the page spec.

The Grok Bot FAQ says there is no model picker, and the model can be first-party or from a third-party provider.

So I read the live GoldieBench leaderboard on 4 November 2026 and matched five small-business ideas to the models worth drafting them with.

Why the model question moves to your drafting desk

Inside Grok Bot you control the instructions, not the engine.

The use cases page says the best roles own a repeatable outcome and every starter prompt ends at a review point.

That means the quality of your written role, rules and output format decides most of the result.

Write those in your Agent OS with a strong model, then paste them into the Bot.

GoldieBench helps you choose that model.

What GoldieBench showed on 4 November

The home page listed 1310 live demos, 50 tasks, 33 models and 1041 curated verdicts.

Tasks split into four categories: Games 23, Visuals 9, Sims 12 and Pages 3.

Every model gets the same prompt, one shot, scored 0 to 10, and medals show per-task rank.

It tests single-file builds, not Bot roles, so treat it as a proxy for how well a model holds a long spec.

RankModelAvg /10ScoredBest at
#1Fusion8.5947/47Games
#2Claude Opus 58.2750/50Sims
#3Hermes MoA8.1747/47Visuals
#4GPT-5.6 Sol8.1650/50Pages
#5Claude Fable 58.1047/47Games
#7Grok8.0943/47Games

All rows come from the leaderboard home page; I left out #6 Qwen 3.8 (8.10) to keep the table short.

Grok's own scores, and a line that disagrees

The Grok model page showed an 8.09/10 average across 47 tasks, with 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.

Its three Pages tasks scored 9.0 on Landing, 9.0 on Webos and 7.0 on Aipbpromo.

The same page's trade-offs line still says Grok has zero curated verdicts and is unranked.

That conflicts with the scores above it, so I quote the numbers and flag the line.

And this is the Grok chat model, not Grok Bot, which doesn't name the models it runs.

On the Grok 4.7 page, Grok 4.7 averaged 7.15 on twenty skill-infused game briefs where Grok 4.6 averaged 5.95, winning 14 of the 20 head-to-heads.

Idea 1: a viewings dashboard for an estate agency

An estate agency can ask a Bot for a page that tracks this week's viewings by property, agent and status, with a filter per branch.

The files and results docs describe pages as reports, dashboards and trackers with filters and switches, private until you share them.

Draft the page spec with GPT-5.6 Sol, which the leaderboard labels best at Pages.

Grok's own 9.0 on two Pages tasks is a good sign too, but Pages is only three tasks, so the sample is small.

The review point is the page itself: the branch manager checks it before sharing with the team.

Idea 2: a supplier inbox digest for a bakery

A bakery gets order confirmations and price lists from a handful of suppliers.

Give the Bot its own mail.grokbot.com address, hand each supplier a plus alias, and set a routine on that alias with a sender filter, per the computer and apps docs.

Each weekday morning the Bot posts a digest of what arrived and drafts any reply, which waits until you press Send.

Draft the routine instruction with Claude Opus 5, #2 overall with all 50 tasks scored.

A long, rule-heavy instruction is closer to a hard spec than a quick prompt.

Idea 3: an incident write-up for an IT support firm

A small IT support firm can trigger a routine from a Sentry or PagerDuty event, which the routines docs list as supported triggers.

The Bot investigates, returns a short write-up with screenshots and links, and separates facts from guesses, following the docs' product performance role.

It must not change alerts or production settings.

Draft the skill with Fusion, #1 at 8.59 with 21 golds on the home page, then test it on a past incident before the trigger goes live.

Idea 4: a corporate membership watch list for a gym

A gym selling corporate memberships can use the account health role.

The Bot ranks each corporate account by usage, support issues and renewal timing, with the evidence and a suggested next step, and contacts no one.

Define the risk thresholds in the Bot's standing rules so the weekly list stays consistent.

Claude Fable 5, at 8.10 with 47 of 47 tasks scored, is a solid pick for writing those threshold rules.

Idea 5: price watching for a florist, with approval

A florist can import the Deal Watcher template, listed in the Grok Bot changelog under v0.77.0, to track prices and coupons on vases, ribbon and wrap.

Per the same changelog it never buys without the florist's OK, and since v0.78.1 a Buy now tap opens an order that waits for approval.

The Vault page pulls the other way: it says a stored card is used at checkout with no per-use prompt.

Add an Ask first rule for purchases, and no model choice changes that.

Skills you draft for these ideas follow the same save-and-test steps in our Grok Bot skills model guide.

Swap in any model from the top of the board if you already pay for it.

The gap between #2 and #7 on the home page is 0.18 points, so the role text you write matters more than the pick.

Whichever model drafts it, run the result through the docs' six steps: describe, run one safe task, correct, save a skill, add a routine, keep approval.

What the scores don't tell you about these ideas

  • They don't test approvals, connectors or routine triggers.
  • They are one-shot builds, while Bot roles improve as you correct them.
  • Pages has only three tasks, so a Pages label rests on a small sample.
  • Grok Bot may not use any of these models for the actual run.

A five-step routing checklist

  1. Pick one idea that owns a repeatable outcome.
  2. Draft the role and rules in your Agent OS with a model from the top of the board.
  3. Paste it into a new Bot and run one safe task.
  4. Save the corrected process as a skill, then try it on a different input.
  5. Add the routine last, with an Ask first rule for anything that leaves the business.

No. It covers the Grok chat model on one-shot builds. Grok Bot doesn't name the models it runs.

Which model should I draft a Grok Bot page spec with?

GPT-5.6 Sol carries the leaderboard's best at Pages label, though Pages has only three tasks on the bench.

Why does the Grok page say unranked?
